Language proof on an exporter site: a translation does not open a market

Y.Emre Konar · exporter website language proof

Language proof is a page, an enquiry path and an office that answer in that market. A translate button does not open it.

Language proof on an exporter site is whether the page can answer in that market. A translation does not open a market. A German buyer asks about conformity, delivery and who replies. A Turkish page run through a translator is not published as that language if those three answers are missing. HED Creative writes the two languages as two jobs. Berlin and Ankara are two offices of one accountable partner.

Proof sits on the page

Proof is a service or product page written in that language, an enquiry path in that language, and an office that replies in that language. A flag icon is not proof. An automatic translation layer is not proof. The German page names the counterparty in Berlin. The Turkish page names the counterparty in Ankara. The form structure can stay the same. The inbox does not.

Why a translation does not open a market

A machine breaks units and the names of standards. A buyer notices. Search also looks for the question asked in that language. A translated homepage does not carry that question. Which pages ship in which language is a line in the scope. Pages that will not be translated are written down too. Half a language is half a claim about a market. If the copy is late, the page waits. An empty template does not go live.

The address stays honest

Each language has its own address. Switching language on one URL confuses the buyer and search. hreflang points only at a twin that is actually published. An unpublished German URL is not pointed at. If your copy is late, the page does not open. An empty template does not mean you operate in that market.

Which language the enquiry arrives in

The buyer writes in their own language. Sales sees, in the first line, who can read it. Translating afterwards slows the reply and shifts the scope. Measurement should not treat the language as a separate business. The event is the enquiry. Language is a dimension of that event. The decision sits in the measurement plan. Until it is written, the two markets get mixed in the report.

To see language proof in the scope, start at website development. Visibility in that language is discussed in the same brief as the SEO scope. Related: search in Germany for exporters.

Questions companies ask

Is a translate button enough?

No. A market opens with a page, an enquiry path and an office that answer in that language. The button is not a scope line.

Is every page translated?

No. Which page ships in which language is a line. Pages that will not be translated are written down too. Discovery keeps the list short.

Does hreflang point at an empty URL?

No. It points only at a twin that is published. An unpublished German URL is not pointed at.

Who writes the German copy?

The technical facts stay with you. HED Creative writes the question the page answers and the enquiry path. Machine copy does not go live.

Do we need two inboxes?

The form structure can stay the same. The inbox splits by language. One inbox mixes two markets. The split is written in the scope.
