A website scope document is the page written before anyone discusses price. It holds the page list, the form, the languages, the handover and the work that stays with you. A proposal file does not replace it. HED Creative uses one document for Berlin and Ankara. Two offices do not write two scopes. One accountable partner keeps a single definition of done.
What the document holds
The single question each page answers. The form fields and who receives the enquiry. Which office owns which language. The event measurement will count. The accounts that remain yours on handover: domain, hosting, analytics, content. Work outside the scope is named. Social media management does not hide inside this document. A line that is not written becomes a surprise invoice later.
Price comes after this page
A number given without a scope is a guess to bargain over. Once the scope is written, an added request is visible: another language, a dealer map, a product record. The extra line stands alone and does not enter the job without approval. Approval by email is enough. A signature round does not speed discovery. The international brief should be readable in one sitting.
Who owns what
Design and build sit with HED Creative. Copy, dimensions, prices and legal text stay with you. Theme, plugin, map and typeface name the account they are opened in. On handover day nobody hunts for a password. The account is opened in your name from the start.
What a buyer can check
A buyer can tick the page list, the definition of done and the excluded lines. A modern look cannot be checked. The sentence that a product record carries an enquiry form can be checked. The document replaces the slide. A promise on a slide that is missing from the list is not part of the job.
Ask for the document from the job description on website development. If speed is a line in that document, read page speed on a company site.
