An approval chain application replaces the message that says please look, with a step on the record. Two days later the amount someone approved and the amount that went out are the same number. Who may see it, who may release it, and where the record stays are three lines in the brief.
Write the threshold
Which amount reaches which role is a sentence. Below it, sales closes. Above it, finance or the founder sees the record. Without a threshold every job climbs to the top and the chain goes unused. Release one carries one or two thresholds, not a ten-step chart.
Name the cover
Leave calendars stay outside the app. The cover is a person. If that person is missing, the record waits. It does not slide quietly to another name. HED Creative asks for that name in discovery. A shared inbox is not a role. The conversation can run from Berlin or Ankara.
A no requires a sentence. Without it, the record is not treated as decided. The same amount does not return as a fresh argument the next week.
The record stays on the object
Approval sits on the quote or the order. It does not live in a separate sea of requests. The person who looks sees the amount and the lines. The inbox may remind. The system is the record.
The trace and the code
Who released which amount, and when, is a line that is not quietly rewritten. After launch that trace sits in your environment. A macro on a private laptop is not a chain. The right to change a threshold is in the handover.
Write the threshold on web app development. How the quote itself is kept is in how a quote record is kept. Who receives the code is in who receives the code, and the running owner is a software partner.
