Several plants, one system, plants named for what they run

Y.Emre Konar · multi-plant company website structure

A firm with several plants runs one system. Each plant is named for the work it does. One person owns the note. A microsite per plant waits until the buyer and the language differ.

A website for a firm with several plants is not a new brand on every gate. The buyer needs to see which plant does which work, and who receives the note. HED Creative names the plants inside one system. Berlin and Ankara use the same table.

One system

Domain, form and item record are shared. A plant page is a record inside that system. A separate design, a separate launch and a separate measurement produce three reports and three half sites. The first release is one system. A second brand is discussed only when the buyer and the language truly differ.

Name the plant for the work

Each plant is named for what it does: casting, assembly, warehouse, laboratory. A heading that says global plants does not say which one quotes. The address is written only as far as the work that actually sits there. An office that does not produce is not called a factory. An empty pin is not opened on a map.

One owner for the note

The form carries the plant name. One person reads it. That person routes the job to the right plant. An info box on every plant makes the same buyer receive three replies. If export is read separately, that is a second reader, not a second plant. The rule is written in the scope.

A microsite is the exception

A separate domain per plant is not opened when the buyer is the same and the language is the same. Care, documents and measurement triple. The exception is a different buyer and a different language. Then a separate address, a separate inbox and an honest hreflang are written. A flag icon does not make that split.

Out of the first release

No shop per plant, no blog per plant, and no drone tour of three sites. A shared capacity sentence does not mix the work of the plants. The certificate of one plant is not pinned as a badge on another.

If one owner should keep the system after launch, write that as an IT partner. Three agencies describe three plants three ways. One counterpart keeps the table once.

What goes in the table

Plant name, the work it does, the address, and the one person who reads the note. If you want a separate site, say why the buyer and the language differ. If there is no reason, the line is deleted.

The build sits in website development. The record of a single plant is in the factory website guide.

Questions companies ask

Does each plant get its own site?

Not if the buyer and the language are the same. A separate domain triples the care. The split is written only when both differ.

Does the note land at every plant?

No. The form carries the plant name and one person reads it. That person routes the job.

Is an office called a factory?

No. A plant is named for the work it does. An address that does not produce is not opened as a factory.

Do we publish one capacity for all?

Each plant’s work is written on its own. One plant’s figure is not moved onto another page. An unconfirmed figure is not written at all.

Do three languages mean three plants?

No. Language follows the person who answers. The number of plants is not the number of languages.
